Where is it?: Aldinga Reef is within the intertidal zone of the Encounter Marine Park off Snapper Point, Aldinga Beach.
Access and Parking: Parking is available along the Esplanade, Aldinga Beach.

History: The Aldinga Reef Aquatic Reserve was proclaimed on 30 November 19711. This area became part of the Encounter Marine Park on 29 January 20092.
Habitat: The intertidal limestone reef platform is exposed at low tide and extends approximately 500 metres offshore. The vegetation of the sand dunes in the region above the high tide mark and the base of the cliffs includes Coast Daisy Bush (Olearia axillaris), Coast Saltbush (Atriplex cinerea) and Coast Twinleaf (Zygophyllum billardierei).
Total Species Recorded to Date: 44 (non-passerines 39, passerines 5)
Common Species: Little Pied Cormorant, Silver Gull, Singing Honeyeater, Greater Crested Tern, Red-capped Plover
Less Common Species: Greater Sand Plover, Double-banded Plover, Grey-tailed Tattler
