Where is it?: Muddle Wirra Reserve (Pengilly Scrub) is on Molloy Road, 5km SE of Wasleys.

History: Most of the scrub was burnt out during the Pinery wild fire in November 2015.
Habitat: There are three main vegetation associations within the reserve:
- Peppermint Box (Eucalyptus porosa) woodland on the sandy clay loam in the lowest areas
- Native Pine (Callitris preissii) woodland on the sandy loam dunes
- Mallee woodland comprised of Red Mallee (E. socialis), White Mallee (E. gracilis), White Mallee (E. dumosa) and White Mallee (E. phenax subsp. phenax)

Common Species: Crested Pigeon, Red-rumped Parrot, Spiny-cheeked Honeyeater, Singing Honeyeater, White-browed Babbler, Willie Wagtail
Less Common Species: Horsfield’s Bronze Cuckoo, Eastern Barn Owl, Cockatiel, Blue-winged Parrot, White-fronted Chat, Mistletoebird
